I have little hope the manual will last very long before pages start falling out. Both corners that were deepest in the envelope were bashed up and tatty, and the whole manual was squashed at an angle, warping the spine. However upon opening the envelope I was disappointed to find the manual was by far the most damaged manual I have ever received. 2) I thought this would solve a pet peeve of mine, mangled instructions. I was far too excited by this for two reasons. The instruction manual came in a cardboard envelope. Below is the photo I got, proof that it does indeed sometimes rain in Los Angeles! I know this because one day, a couple of years ago, when I was working at Sony Studios I just happened to walk past it just sitting there next to the Green Hornets car (I think). The restored original one is kept on the Sony Studio lot.

However, the actual car in the movie is not the one used in the original movies. They make several alterations to the car which are represented in the LEGO model. Egon's family discover the Ecto-1 in disrepair. This new set is supposed to be the exact same Ecto-1 from the original movies. I think this design was less successful and the hearse was a little on the nose for ghostbusters. On screen the Etco-1 had a make-over adding some digital billboards and yellow and black hazard stripes.įor the 2016 reboot movie a 1984 Cadillac de Ville Fleetwood Hearse was chosen to be transformed into the Ecto-1. But when the original one died during production of Ghostbusters II they had to quickly renovate the 'prop' version.

Originally the car was supposed to be black and purple but was changed last minute out of fear it wouldn't film well at night. In the original movie Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd's character) purchases an old beat up 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Futura Duplex and turns it into the Ecto-1 (actually called the Ectomobile!).
